We are now in our tenth year and going from strength to strength. LaSquadra is not about a set speed or regime, just a group of like-minded cyclists getting together and riding as hard as you like while not taking it too seriously. All new members welcome – no one gets left behind!
LaSquadra Cycling Club Rides:
Tuesday Evening 6.30pm Norfolk Arms, Ringinglow
Saturday Morning 8.30am for 9am, Nonnas, Ecclesall Road (Resuming in Spring 2016)
Sunday Morning 9.00am for 9.30am, Norfolk Arms, Ringinglow
We’ve a slightly different ride proposed for this bank holiday, while footballers are only good for 2 halves, us cyclists being much tougher can cope with more. So we are having a ride of 10 halves on Sunday 28th August. Proposal is to meet at the Norfolk Arms at 11am then have a steady amble of about 75km around the peaks calling in a selection of hostelries finishing back at the Norfolk Arms.
Obviously bicycling and too many alcoholic halves aren’t compatible and we are in no way condoning drunken bicycling also the last thing we want is to have anyone charged with “cycling furiously” (though that would be a bit cool). Whatever you choose to refresh with is your own choice and if anyone starts to put themselves or anyone else at risk they will have to use the taxi option.
The real aim is to have a relaxed steady ride out, on one day of the bank holiday and by calling in a selection of pubs on the way round it will become more of a summer social than a fast blat.
Tuesday’s laSquadra regular eve ride, 6:15 meet and 6:30 set off from the Norfolk Arms on ringinglow road.
link to the suggested route below, headlines are 45km and about 900m of climbing, good weather is forecasted and the wind speed is supposed to dropping.
all welcome and normal rules apply.
ie no one gets dumped out the back and left on their own
Squadra is going mucky on Sunday this weekend, it’s been dry for a bit so more dusty really and cross bikes could cut it as well.
9:00am meet at nonnas for a 9:30am roll out up mayfield valley and a loop round the tops before working it back up wyming brook to get back up to the norfolk.
Nothing any fancier than the title for this one.
Few of us are going to the mooovies to see the new Bourne film. To add a little consistency we’ll meet in the pub 1st and then amble over to the Showroom cinema at hopefully the right time.
Meeting at the Sheffield Tap (the one next to the train station) at 7pm ‘ish for banter and beer then walk up to the Showroom cinema for the 8:40pm showing. Links to the websites for both below, sort your own cinema tickets out and bring your own beer and popcorn money.
